Een goede gitaarpartij ontstaat vaak vanuit een gesprek. Je kunt een demo, een ruwe mix of een bijna afgeronde productie aanleveren. Samen bepalen we welke rol de gitaar krijgt binnen het nummer.
This can range from a single supporting part to multiple layers, melodies, and additional ideas for the arrangement. Next, I develop the parts and deliver them as separate audio files so that they can be easily incorporated into the production.
Guitar that carries the song
As a session guitarist, I contribute ideas regarding the role the guitar can play within a production. Sometimes a song calls for a subtle texture in the background, sometimes for a supporting acoustic part, or conversely for a melody line that moves the story forward. The basic principle remains the same: playing what the music needs, no more and no less.
Drawing on my background as a guitarist, composer, and recording engineer, I look not only at the part itself, but at the whole picture. How does the guitar sound within the arrangement? What space is it allowed to occupy? And how does it contribute to the atmosphere of the song?
